Supervisor Portal

Supervisors: Log into your eRA Commons account to access the portal

The Loan Repayment Program (LRP) portal provides research supervisors of LRP awardees with an interface to answer a series of eligibility questions to ensure LRP awardees are in compliance with their contractual obligations. At the conclusion of each awardee’s service period, research supervisors receive an email prompting them to log into their eRA Commons account, where they use the LRP Verifications menu option to access the portal. For each LRP awardee under their supervision, they step through questions that verify continued eligibility, such as meeting service hours and verifying that research remains within the scope of the LRP requirements.

Not receiving LRP emails? Log into your eRA Commons account to ensure that the contact information listed in your Personal Profile (Name and ID Section) is correct and current. Contact the LRP Information Center at [email protected] if you have questions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I verify an LRP awardee's quarterly research service?

  1. Log into your eRA Commons account
  2. Click on the Bento Menu icon (a grid of 3 rows with 3 dots in each row) on the upper left corner of your screen
  3. Select the "LRP Verifications" menu option
I clicked on the Bento menu icon, but I do not see "LRP Verifications" as a menu option anywhere. What do I do?

The LRPS role is required to verify an LRP awardee's research service. If you do not have the LRPS role, please contact a Signing Official (SO) in your organization and ask them to add the LRPS role to your account.

I have the LRPS role. Why am I unable to see any awardees in LRP Verifications?

There are two common reasons this occurs. The portal displays awardees with affiliations that match your affiliation with the LRPS role in Commons. (1) If you have multiple affiliations, make sure you switch to the correct affiliation (see instructions for Changing the Displayed Affiliated Institutions). (2) The awardee may have an outdated Commons affiliation and need to update their affiliation before they appear in your portal (see instructions to Manage Affiliations). If neither seems to be the case, email us at [email protected]

I am not receiving LRP emails. What do I do?

The email address used to contact you comes from your Personal Profile in eRA Commons. Log into your eRA Commons account to ensure that the contact information listed in your Personal Profile (Name and ID Section) is correct and current. If the email address is accurate, then check to see if NIH emails are being blocked by a spam filter or firewall.

When will I be required to use two-factor authentication to log into eRA modules like ASSIST?

To ensure the security of your eRA account, we are phasing in the requirement to use two-factor authentication (using Login.gov or a qualified InCommon Federated account). All scientific account holders (e.g., LRP applicants, referees, and mentors) should take action now to ensure continued access to their accounts, while administrative account holders (e.g., IBOs) who hold more than one account will be required to move to two-factor authentication in early 2024. Learn more about when you need to make the transition and what steps you should take when using Login.gov or InCommon Federated accounts.

I need to submit a letter in support of an LRP application. How can I do this?
